In vitro
METHODS: C2C12 myoblasts and primary skeletal muscle cells were treated with MGF (0–100 nM) for 24–72 hours. Cell proliferation, differentiation, and signaling pathway activation were evaluated using Western blot analysis, immunofluorescence, and cell viability assays.
RESULTS: MGF promotes myoblast proliferation and supports muscle cell repair and regeneration. It activates IGF-1 receptor-mediated signaling pathways, including PI3K/Akt and MAPK/ERK, enhancing cellular survival and growth. MGF is particularly associated with early-stage muscle repair processes and satellite cell activation. No significant cytotoxicity is observed at commonly used experimental concentrations. [1]
