LIPO-C is a multi-component lipotropic formulation commonly used in metabolic and weight management research. It typically contains a combination of lipotropic agents such as L-carnitine, methionine, inositol, choline, and B-complex vitamins. This formulation is designed to support lipid metabolism, enhance fatty acid transport, and promote energy utilization at the cellular level.

Questions
Lipo-C Common Questions
What’s pIC50?
pIC50 is the negative log of the IC50 value when converted to molar. That is, pIC50=-log(IC50).
What’s Kd?
Dissociation consent (Kd) reflects the affinity of a compound for its target. In some cases, it can be equivalent to Ki.

Targets & IC50
Targets:
Carnitine Palmitoyltransferase I (CPT1) (via L-carnitine pathway)
Lipid Metabolism Pathways
Methylation Pathways
IC50:
Not applicable (multi-component formulation without a single defined inhibitory target)
In vitro
METHODS: HepG2 hepatocytes and 3T3-L1 adipocytes were treated with LIPO-C (0–100 μg/mL, component-adjusted concentrations) for 24–72 hours. Lipid metabolism, mitochondrial activity, and fatty acid oxidation were evaluated using enzymatic assays, lipid staining, and Western blot analysis.
RESULTS: LIPO-C enhances fatty acid oxidation and promotes lipid utilization in both hepatocytes and adipocytes. It increases mitochondrial metabolic activity and supports lipolytic processes while reducing intracellular lipid accumulation. The formulation demonstrates synergistic effects due to its combined components, with no significant cytotoxicity observed at standard experimental concentrations. [1]
