⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

LIPO-C (NO B12) is a lipotropic multi-component formulation designed for metabolic and lipid utilization research. It typically contains key lipotropic agents such as L-carnitine, methionine, inositol, and choline, without the inclusion of vitamin B12. This formulation supports fatty acid transport, promotes lipid metabolism, and facilitates energy production at the cellular level, making it suitable for studies where B12 exclusion is required.

Questions

LIPO-C (NO B12) Common Questions

What’s pIC50?

pIC50 is the negative log of the IC50 value when converted to molar. That is, pIC50=-log(IC50).

What’s Kd?

Dissociation consent (Kd) reflects the affinity of a compound for its target. In some cases, it can be equivalent to Ki.

Targets & IC50

Targets:

  • Carnitine Palmitoyltransferase I (CPT1) (via L-carnitine-mediated fatty acid transport)

  • Fatty Acid Oxidation Pathway

  • Methylation Pathways

IC50:

  • Not applicable (multi-component formulation without a single defined inhibitory target)

In vitro

METHODS: HepG2 hepatocytes and 3T3-L1 adipocytes were treated with LIPO-C (NO B12) (0–100 μg/mL, component-adjusted concentrations) for 24–72 hours. Lipid metabolism, mitochondrial activity, and fatty acid oxidation were evaluated using enzymatic assays, Oil Red O staining, and Western blot analysis of metabolic markers.

RESULTS: LIPO-C (NO B12) enhances fatty acid oxidation and promotes lipid utilization in hepatocytes and adipocytes. It reduces intracellular lipid accumulation and increases mitochondrial metabolic activity. The formulation supports lipolysis and metabolic efficiency without affecting pathways associated with vitamin B12-dependent processes. No significant cytotoxicity is observed at standard experimental concentrations. [1]
